The Bantam A Red team is thrilled to announce two new female assistant coaches.
Kiri Langford comes to the Panthers after playing for York University and the New Zealand National team. She has gone on to become one of the top Strength and Conditioning Coaches in Ontario, and is one of the staff for the Canadian Sport Institute Ontario. Her expertise in motor skills, physical literacy, and biomechanics. She is also a mental skills coach and will be a great resource in both of these areas.
Jasmine Grant will also be working with the team this year as an Assistant Coach. Jasmine has been a Panther for the past 13 years and was a top player not only with the Panthers but within Ontario. She is also a powerskating instructor and has been working with one of the top powerskating coaches in Ontario. Her offensive skills and creativity will be a huge asset to us as we try to create more offense with our young team.
The team is very excited to work with both Kiri and Jasmine and look forward to a great season together.
We are pleased to announce that Jon Little will now be coaching the Peewee B team for the 2018-2019 season. Tryouts for the Peewee B team will run as scheduled.
There have been several requests to field an Atom B program for 2018/2019. The executive members have reviewed the request and determined that we will not be announcing an Atom B program at this time. We will review the situation again in the fall and examine factors such as house league registration count and weekday ice contract availability.
We recommend players that do not make the Atom BB team register for house league and stay tuned for more information, including an enhanced DS program for next season.
