CYGHA Programs for the 2012/2013 season
The CYGHA Executive have made some changes to the programs and teams for the 2012/2013 season in an effort to best serve the divisions and growth over the past year in the association.
For the 2012/2013 season, we are pleased to announce the introduction of a 3rd Atom Rep team and a 2nd game at least every other week in the Midget House League division. The addition of the Atom team serves a growing need among our younger age groups for additional rep teams and adding a weeknight game to Midget House League serves the largest division in the Association of 120+ players.
The association has a limited amount of ice and must make decisions on how best to use that ice time keeping in mind the needs of all members of our Association. The best use of ice we can secure, the population in the divisions and tryout interest are the key factors considered by the executive when looking at how best to serve the entire association which includes all players in both our Rep and HL programs. Given the factors considered, the Int A and Midget B teams will not be part of the CYGHA program for the upcoming season.
We also continuously try to negotiate more ice time with our local Towns in order that we can provide more hockey opportunities for our members. We were successful this year in acquiring additional ice time at the new Bradford West Gwillimbury Leisure Centre.
The Executive will continue to review the data on a yearly basis and make decisions that are in the best interests of the association and members as a whole.
